First rendezvous

Our rendezvous, their each and every moment,
we celebrated as a holy omen,
Epiphany for just the two of us.
As daring as a wing, more light than dust,
you, down the stairway, like a dizzy torrent
ran skipping treads, and navigated past
the veil of lilac to the territory
under your reign, behind the mirror glass.

And when the night arrived, I was awarded
a privilege, the altar's sacral ark
had opened up, and slowly leaning forward,
pure nakedness was shining in the dark,
and, waking up, I whispered: “Have my blessings!” –
and also knew how daringly transgressive
my blessings were: Amidst your quiet dream,
to touch your lids with all the blossom's essence,
a lilac branch was stretching from the tree,
and lightly touched with violet, your eyelids
remained unmoving, and your breathing free.

And in a crystal ball lived fuming highlands,
pulsating rivers, scintillating brines,
and sleeping on your throne, you took the pleasure
of holding in your palm that crystal treasure,
and – Gods Almighty! – you yourself were mine.

You came awake, and altered the entire
vocabulary of the human kin,
and filled the voice, up to the chin and higher,
with speech, and the familiar you acquired
a novel status, and it meant: my king.

The universe was suddenly transfigured,
including simple things – a tub, a jar –
as water with rigidity and rigor
stood in between us like a watchful guard.

We landed in the world's uncharted part.
Before us, magic capitals grew bigger
and like mirages disappeared afar,
herbs underfoot expressed their keen affection,
and birds above flew in the same direction,
and fish ascended from the river's midsts,
and, greeting us, the skies expanded amply...

Whereas behind, our fate crept in, resembling
a madman with a razor in his fist.
